From the Kitchen

In this section of our paper, I want to share some of our family’s favorite  recipes.  This one is one that Chris would beg Aunt Barb (Dave) to make.  Usually she would have to scratch her back for an hour for this one.  Barb included this recipe in a card with Chris’s wedding gift in 1981.The back scratching paid off for Chris.

Cherry Cheesecake

Graham Cracker Crust

1 ½ cup crumbs , cup Br.Sugar

¼ cup Butter

Mix together-save ¼ cup for top. Press into Pyrex dish and bake at 350 degrees for 8 min.

Filling

Mix one small package Cream Cheese, ½ pint of cream (whipped), and ½ tsp. Vanilla, and ½ cup icing sugar.  Pour mixture into cooled crust. Add one can  of cherry pie filling onto cheese mixture and spread evenly.  Sprinkle top with remaining crumb mixture.  Chill overnight.

Enjoy, Love Aunt Barb

Gramp’s Corner

In this section of our paper it is time to reveal some of the many interesting facts about Grampa.  Here is a story that he recently told to me….

When Grampa met Gram

One day while gramp and I were talking, I had asked him how he met gram..  He told me that they had both been living in the “south ward” in Sarnia.  Gramp said that he knew of Gramma, but there were always a lot of boys hanging around her house. ( Gram was very popular).A boy named Goerge    was interested in Gram.  When Gramp decided to pursue Gram, George was out  the picture! He told me that once they got together, that she knew  his intention was to marry her, and he knew that her intention was to marry him.  The rest is Barcroft history!

And The Last Word Goes To?

Working on this paper has been a lot of fun for me.   It is hard for me to contain my excitement when I come up with and idea.  As you know we have a very strong and loving family so it is easy for me to share this with you.  I am so happy that I have been left such a legacy.

I am dedicating this paper to Gram’s memory.  She preserved so much of our family’s history through pictures, movies and stories.  Now we can continue the tradition!
